“This event has always been my favorite here at Plum Bottom,” says Luberger, “It’s always a privilege for me to show my newest work in the surroundings that have such an impact on its direction.” Luberger will unveil three months of his work in porcelain. He has focused on his signature, colorful porcelain wall sculptures for the event.

Angela Lensch, Plum Bottom’s resident jewelry artist will also showcase her new summer jewelry designs, featuring her one of a kind woven jewelry.  Angela is known for her ability to ‘paint with gemstones.’ Many of these new colorful combinations will be showcased. Lensch’s newest focus has been weaving with strictly gold and silver sans gemstones, “I love how versatile this line is, I’m exploring many different variations on a single theme,” says Lensch.

Plum Bottom for the first time has also added two dimensional art to an ever growing cadre of artists represented by the gallery. Erin Nolan’s fine art woodblock prints will be on display, as well as Davide Toffolon’s Pen and Ink Trees. These artists compliment each other with their masterful interpretations of nature.

Luberger invites you to come out to this very special, once a year event and allow your senses to feast on the food, art and stunning surrounds of this Door County art destination. The first annual Holiday Show was a great success. Luckily just as the show was ending Door County got its first snow storm of the season. Plum Bottom Pottery will host THE HOLIDAY SHOW, Friday and Saturday, December 10-11^th from 10-5pm. Plum Bottom’s newest artist Erin Nolan will be on hand Saturday, December 12^th from 12-2pm to answer questions about her beautifully detailed wood block fine art prints. Guest artist Mary White will debut her latest pastels created over the past six months, inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Plum Bottom. Be the first to see the pastel drawings of this talented artist.

Chase and I "reunited" in American Folklore Theatre's Life on the Mississippi

Yes, it has been awhile since I last posted. It’s amazing  how Door County summers can slip through your fingers. But what an inspiring summer – working during the day in the studio and filling my nights at American Folklore Theatre – what a gift.  I spent the better part of the summer as Henry Clemens in AFT’s new musical Life on the Mississippi. What a beautiful outdoor theater – and I got to sing again! Something that I have taken a hiatus from for quite awhile. So, although my days were long, I found the theater work to inspire my clay work. I hadn’t realized how closely the way I approach clay is influenced by my theater training.  The improvisational nature of theater is directly related to how I approach working with porcelain. It is a constantly changing dialogue I am having with each piece – breathing with each moment. A true collaboration.

I am firing a new body of porcelain work that will be making its debut at the event and Angela Lensch will be unveiling her new summer jewelry designs. Last year Pamela Moore(my mother) catered the event and this year she has graciously agreed to create the cuisine but with an Asian themed twist. If you haven’t experienced my mom’s food, trust me, it’s worth the trip down to Plum Bottom in itself.

The revelry will start around 6pm on Thurs. July 15th. We will also be serving wine and beer. Come on down and feed not only your soul but your belly!
